...nearly finished the install....
Waiting for it to get dark outside so I get maximum performance when hooking my PC up to my projector =)
This is 50% of the reason I bought my new PC last November. The other 50% is Half Life 2.
*lots of grinning going on over here...!

Same here. I stunmbled on a computer shop that was selling them a day early yesterday so I couldn't help myself. Amazing looking game. Haven't had time to get far enough to shoot anything yet though. =) -

Re: Just purchased Doom 3.....
Thu, August 5, 2004 - 12:35 AMWell, it's been a few hours, and it's certainly taken me back several years, but not in the way I hoped.....
I'd forgotten how tricky PC's can be to get demanding games going well these days. I must have rebooted my PC over 20 times this evening, either due to configuration changes, or lock ups during the game. Not good :(
The lastest video card (ATI Radeon 9800XT) drivers helped, but the game is still locking up. Grrrrr
I think it is hinting it is time to reload win2000 back to the basics and try from there. The PC has become a bit messy over the last several months.
So not a good experience so far :(

Re: Just purchased Doom 3.....
Thu, August 5, 2004 - 3:18 PMI did a wipe a couple months ago and re-installed XP-pro. Also, before I installed Doom 3, I got the latest catalyst drivers for my 9800 pro 256 and downloaded a ulitity to test hyperthreading and dual-channel memory, as well as DX 9.0c. I'm glad I did, because it runs great for me so far. *knocks on wood*
