Turok Help

topic posted Fri, March 26, 2004 - 10:26 AM by  Silent Knight
I know this game has been out for quite a while. But I just recently got into it and now I'm stuck.

I looked online and couldn't find any help from the company site so I thought one of you "First Person" veterans might be able to help.

I finished the first section of levels having made it through the Slegg fortress. I really wanted to take on those impossible odds (before being whisked away to the next section).

That's when I got stuck. I think the Levels called Forbidden Forest (or something like that). I've found two of the three keys needed to advance into the next fortress. One next to the log and at the top of that ant hill thingie.

Where's the third key? I've looked around for hours and can find nothing.

I sadly have no clue and I seriously doubt anyone from this tribe will answer you. I have been a while since I have been here and not a sole has answered anything besides one person. So . . . I doubt you can get help, sorry.

I Thank you and James for your replys.

Any ideas about where I might find some Turok Evolution questions?

What games are you guys playing right now?

I'm always looking for good PS2 games to play. Any suggestions for someone looking for a FPS with a good storyline (I'm not looking for deathmatch games)?

            Why don't you try www.gamefaqs.com/ .

Well, I can't suggest any PS2 games, but I can suggest UT2004. While it does have DeathMatch I really don't play that, I play the assualt, CFT and Onslaught types. I'd try the demo first!

What does UT2004 stand for. Also what does CFT stand for.

UT2004 stands for Unreal tournament 2004 and CFT stands for Capture The Flag, don't ask why it is also called CFT. Anyway, CFT is just a type of gameplay that is present in a lot of first person shooters.

Of course I could try putting the ltters in the right combination, it's CTF not CFT Jenny. *Sigh* I'm done now.

Quake 2 is probably THE best Deathmatch, CTF, and team and 1 vs. 1 tournament style game out there to this day. The network code, the simplicity, the maps, the weapons placement, the feel of the game are all really solid.

It's nice for a game to look pretty, and have all this extra stuff.... it's another to have a really solid Game that's amazingly fun to play offline in single player, or even better in multiplayer.

Alot of the 1st person genres were built using the Q2 engine, I believe Counter Strike, Half-Life, and many others.

Don't bother with the N64 version, buy a copy of Q2, go to www.planetquake.com and find some of the great mods (this is where all the mods started) like Loki's Minions CTF, Rocket Arena, or Lithium or just play a nice DM game of 1 vs 1 or All vs All on the 1st map - Q2dm1

That my friend is what 1st person gaming is all about.

Quake 3 sucked major MONKEY ass IMO they let the graphics market get in the way and tried to compete with pretty games like Unreal Tournament, the problem is, they made a pretty boring game and really pissed off and killed the Quake community.

Quake 1 is a classic in its own right, however.... it's the game that started some of the most famous tournament style matches, and 1st gen games in their unique class get respect for the doors that they open.....

That's enough for now on Quake .... just try Quake 2, it should be pretty cheap to pickup a copy, just don't let the graphics detour your opinion on gameplay.

I enjoy tournament mode in Quake 2 but I like it most in 1 player story mode.

That's, for me, one of the main drawbacks of Quake 3. There is no story mode in this version. And though deathmatch against the computer is fun for a while there's no story to move you along and no compelling objective.
